JD Wetherspoons, the award winning British pub chain was founded in 1979 and operates in the UK and Ireland. The company have over 1,000 outlets which include the Lloyds No.1 chain and 26 Wetherspoon Hotels. The chain has become known for converting large, unconventional buildings into pubs, including cinemas, banks, and post offices. Premises tend to be large by British pub standards, and utilise an open-plan layout.
Acme have a longstanding relationship with Wetherspoons and were originally approached with a view to carrying out reactive service maintenance within some of their regions. Acme carried out a number of site surveys of Wetherspoons sites in order to get a feel for the type of work involved. Acme approached Wetherspoons with a proposal which was accepted. All Acme staff were then trained on the Wetherspoons computer system in order to allow Acme engineers to access the system from various sites.
Acme have been providing reactive refrigeration calls throughout the North of the country for Wetherspoons ever since, providing them with a reduction in refrigeration service costs and less disruption to their business.
